We study Genesis 9-10, the Noahic Covenant. God made His spiritual contract with Noah and all creatures on earth. His terms were to be fruitful and multiply, provide all living things as food, don't shed and drink blood, and never flood the earth again. As a reminder to Himself, His Bow, i.e., the rainbow, was a sign of His covenant in the clouds. The wicked continue to mock God by stealing His rainbow as their symbol of Pride and depravity. God is not mocked. He will eventually judge the wicked as He once did with the great flood to wipe out all corrupted life on earth. The Noahic Covenant is a new covenant for all life to have survived the great flood and restart humanity through Noah and his sons.
Only Noah was righteous before God.
The Lord said to Noah, “You and your entire household go into the ark, for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me among this generation. Genesis 7: 1 MEV.
God saved His entire household. He saves whom He wants to save. Instead of saving Noah alone among all living, He saved his family and repopulated the earth.
God commands again to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. He also gave man dominion over the earth, animals, and sea life.
Every beast of the earth and every bird of the sky and all that moves on the earth and all the fish of the sea will fear you and be terrified of you. They are given into your hand. Genesis 9:2 MEV.
God also gave them meat for food, "every moving thing that lives" without conditions.
Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. I give you everything, just as I gave you the green plant.
At this time, there were no laws about eating clean or unclean foods, but all creatures "that live" were meant for food. This passage also implies that God only intended for us to eat meat from a living animal, not lab-cultured meat from an animal cell, which is not alive. Thus, lab-grown animal and human cells as meat are not biblical. It's evil upon humanity to eat what shouldn't be eaten.
Mark also explains that much of the food laws were a social separation of God's people from the pagans who worshipped other gods and were inherently evil.
God also commanded us not to eat or drink blood. Genesis 9:4. Blood has a special meaning in the Bible. Life is in the blood. Jesus also shed His blood to save all humanity from sin and death. Thus, this is a highly important commandment for us to follow. Yet, many drink blood as food or as rituals to worship their gods. A modern example is Magen Fox admitting that she drinks her husband's blood for "ritual purposes only."
Hollywood has also promoted vampires whose entire existence is to drink human blood and turn many into vampires. The Twilight series glamorizes vampires like fallen angels taking human wives in sin and producing Nephilim's offspring.
God makes His covenant with Noah, his descendants, and all life on earth.
As for Me, I establish My covenant with you, and with your descendants after you; and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the livestock, and every beast of the earth with you; of all that comes out of the ark, every beast of the earth. I establish My covenant with you. Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood. Never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth. Genesis 9:8-11 MEV.
Isn't it comforting to know that God is the only one who can create and destroy the earth, not climate change and not people?
God set His bow in the clouds to sign His covenant--His signature in the sky for all to see and remember.
I have set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth. Genesis 9:13 MEV.
So God said to Noah, 'This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.' Genesis 9:17 MEV.
Then Noah and his three sons, Ham, Shem, and Japheth stories, began. Mark mentioned that Noah only spoke as he cursed Ham. Noah planted his vineyard and drank too much wine to lay naked and drunk one day. Ham saw his naked father but walked out to tell his two brothers without covering him. Then, Shem and Japheth went backward to cover their father and not see his nakedness. Noah cursed Ham's descendants to serve his brothers when he woke and knew what had happened.
Noah's only words to say:
Canaan be cursed! He will be a servant of servants to his brothers. He also said, Blessed be the Lord God of Shem, and let Canaan be his servant. May God enlarge Japheth, and may he dwell in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be his servant. Genesis 9:26-27 MEV.
We know that Canaanites were wicked people. Ham was the father of the Canaanites.
The Bible continues with the genealogy of Noah and his sons in the next chapter. It records the history of tribes from each of the three sons, Japhethites, Hamites, and Semites.
These are the families of the sons of Noah, according to their generations, in their nations. From these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood. Genesis 10:32 MEV.
Thus, all nations began from Noah's three sons and nations divided throughout the earth.
